Re: SCHEUERMANN IN SWITZERLAND

My great grandfather August Tanck twice married a Scheuermann. He married first, my
great grandmother, Eleanora Rosina Scheuermann b. 29Mar1836 in Aarburg, Aargau, Switzerland. He married her about 1857 in Watertown, Jefferson Co., Wisconsin. When she died in 1868, he next married, on 5Dec1869, her sister Margaretha Vrena Scheuermann who had been born in Aarburg 6Dec1844. My grandmother. Eleanora Rosina Tanck was a child of the first marriage. She married Adolph Louis Ferdinand Jaeger who, with his parents, emigrated from Germany (Prussia) and immigrated to NY 14Aug1868. Both of the Scheuermann girls are buried in Watertown, WI. August Tanck, the husband, was born in Cismar, Holstein, Germany and immigrated to US about 1855 after serving in the Customs Bureau in Germany. The Scheuermann parents are said to be Ulrich Scheuermann b. 3Apr1809 d. 1847 and Anna Elisabeth Dill b. 31May1812 d. 9Feb1883.
