Re: Schild from Alsase Lorraine, France

I am researching my ancestors, modern name is Shields, but has been found and traced to SCHIHL, SCHILD, and SHIELS. I have traced some back to Stevensville, Ontario, Canada around 1843-1844. They are listed in the census as coming from Alsace-Lorraine, speaking German, and being Lutheran. They are believed to have come from a town named Stralsund. Any links?
