To Bill Schillinger, et al.Thanks to a Schillinger descendant contacted through Mormon records, I have further information on the ANDREW SCHILLINGER line I am trying to trace back to Baden.Although it does not link to Bill's Pittsburgh ancestors, putting pieces together may help us all in the end, since there seem to have been many Schillinger families from Baden who came to the U.S.and started out in Pennsylvania.)Data below from Bethel Church records, Washtenaw Cty. MI, US Census 1830, 1840, 1860, 1880:
--ANDREW SCHILLINGER(1796-1881) his wife LISETTE MEYER, and daughter Christina immigrated from Herstellen(?), Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany in 1828, lived in Forks Twp. Northampton Cty. PA 1828-1835 before moving permanently to Freedom Twp., Washtenaw Cty., MI.
--1830 Census lists A. Shillinger (sic) in PA, Northampton Cty, Forks Twp. also a GEORGE SHILLINGER who remained there.
--Lisette Meyer, mother of Andrew's 4 daughters and 1 son, died in 1841.
--Fenne Marie Dresselhaus (1808-1881),from Schale, Westfalen, Prussia, listed in Census as "Mary", married Andrew Schillinger in 1845.They had no children.
