OBITUARY: The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Friday, August 13, 1982 Richard J. Schlauch, 80, Zion Grove R.D.1, died Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hazleton State General Hospital, Hazleton after a lenghtly illness. Born in Nuremberg, Nov. 29, 1901, he was the son of the late Johnathan and Nancy Schlauch. He resided his entire life at Zion Grove R.D., was a member of Emmanuel Lutehran Church, Nuremberg, and the United Mine Workers of America. He was a retried coal miner. Surviving are his wife Mabel Bankes; six children: Mrs. Ralph (Ruth) Hauck, Zion Grove R.D.1; Samuel Schlauch, Ringtown; Alvin, Zion R.D.1; Donald, Nuremberg; Richard, Ringtown R.D.1; Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Broyles, Tunkhannock; 35 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Mark S. Harman Funeral Home, Conyngham Rock Glen Road, with Rev. William Knott, officiating. Burial will be in Nuremberg Cemetery.
