Madelyn Huhnstock Scholtes 1915-2000
"Madelyn "Mad" Scholtes, 85, of Worthington, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at her home.
Born April 17, 1915, in Trosky, she was the daughter of Carl and Rena Lokhorst Huhnstock.She married Fabian Scholtes Sept. 8, 1937, in Wilmont.
She graduated from Mankato High School in 1933.After marriage, the couple lived in Wilmont, where she operated a beauty shop for more than 15 years.They operated Scholtes Motors in 1960.They moved the business to Worthington in 1962, moving there shortly after.They retired in 1976.She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Worthington.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Wayne Scholtes, Worthington; one daughter, LaVonne (Lawrence) Lutterman, Worthington; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Lynch-Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, with parish prayers at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Larry Brixius officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery."obituary taken from the Worthington Globe 6/26/2000
