Surname Schuette or Schutte
Dutch and North German (Schütte): occupational name for an archer, from Middle Low German schutten ‘to shoot’. Compare German Schuetz.
My Great Grandmother was a Schutte. Her father was a wagonmaker in Guttenberg, Iowa. They pronounced the ending letter 'e' like 'y'.Looking for descendants of any Schutte's from Clayton County.
