Hi!Well, I don't know how I'd fit in, but I do know from my research that the Schwaner name is very uncommon! But there seems to be quite a few in the States.
My grandfather was Henry Anton Schwaner (born 1903), he had three sisters, Olga, Violet and Edna.
His father was Heinrich Anton Schwaner, he had a brother Erinius Andreas, a sister Margrethe Andrea.
His father was Anton Heinrich Schwaner (born about 1851) and one of 13 children (Carl Erinius, Fritz Theodor, Elisabeth Dorothea, Andreas Georg, Cathrine Lovise, Caroline Seraphine, Poul Theodor, Erich Justus, Charlotte Henriette, Erinius Frederik, Henriette Charlotte and Henriette Regine)! They lived in Odense in Denmark.
His father was Andreas Erinius Schwaner (born 1815).He was a tanner, innkeeper and postman in Bogense.
His father was Carl Friedrich Schwaner (born about 1792 in Hannover). He immigrated to Copenhagen with his brother Justus.
Their father was Justus Werner Schwaner (born about 1753 in Hannover).
I know that's a lot of information, but I've always theorised that some of those 13 chidren immigrated to the States and so I might find some relatives there!
There's also a bit of an argument going on in my family as to whether or not a Heinrich Schwaner married a woman named Wilhemina.I'm also not entirely sure the information I have is correct since, when my family moved to England, they lost a lot of the family connections ... this is information I have from Danish Schwaners.
I would be very grateful for any information you may have that relates to any of this!
Thank you,
Lucy
