John Scoggin - Rome, GA
Looking for parents of John Scoggin.I have a photo I copied from a family album that bears the name of a Rome, Georgia photographer. He would have been born around the time of the Civil war.Judging by his age in the photo, the album was done around 1880 or thereabouts. There were so many pictures of people obviously done at the same time and at the same place, this appears to be "home" for this branch of people. No biographical information was filed with the photos, unfortunately...just a few names.
He married Mary Elizabeth Rogers, born in Tennessee. They traveled West through Arkansas where at least one, maybe two of their children were born, settling eventually in Texas. He died in Red River or Hopkins county. They also farmed in Bowie County.
Does any of this sound familiar to anybody?
