Jo Ann,
I really do appreciate that information so much.
You know, Jo Ann, that my gr-gr-grandmother was Mary Carolyn Scoggins, dau of 1813 Willis Scoggins.
She married into my family of Willsons-James T. Willson & Annie M. Childress were the parents of Llewellyn N. Willson, who was Mary C.'s husband.
This family lived on the north side of Roswell St. in Marietta, at the corner of Beavers St. This is very near the present Roswell Street Baptist Church which is across the street.
Next door to my Willsons & just east of them lived the Dunn family, I believe the parents of your Frances, or something like that.
This was the little community that was set up just beyond the city limits of Marietta & called "Olinville", or "Lickskillet" by less reverent types.
The Olinville Methodist Church, which was a satellite church of the First Methodist Church of Marietta, was right across Beavers Street from my Willsons.
These Willsons are intermarried with the Bentons that are part of the Little Mary Phagan saga, & I know your family is married in with Fiddlin' John Carson who wrote the famous song about her.
My grandfather, Harvey L. "Chick" Wilson was a radio pioneer in Atlanta on WSB in the 1920's & probably had to know John Carson.
All of these Marietta families are mixed together & I have a good bit of material that's coming together.
A lot of these families lived close together down in Atlanta, also, down around GA Tech, more or less.
