I believe these Scottons were religious dissenters, if my memory serves me, when I was trying to link these Scottons with those I was researching in Warwickshire, 'next door' so to speak, in villages near Coventry. I was never able to make the Leicester / Warwick link. I think it likely there is one, with the Leicestershire Scottons older on the scene. My work on this family I have posted at GenCircles, a family that came in the 1830s to America and settled in Indiana. There are today many descendants, recorded in this summary and my book, "Two Coventry Shoemakers Become Indiana Farmers" (available on film at the LDS Library and a number of others in USA & UK).
