John Scribner of Vermont -1800's

I have traced back my branch of the family tree to a John Scribner (b. 2 Aug 1822).He married Laura Ann Batcheller (5 Sep 1855) and they had a child, Ned Justin Scribner (b. 28 Sep 1863).I know they were in Arlington, Bennington, VT at the time of marriage and Ned's birth, but I can't seem to find anything before that.Anyone out there know something I don't?
