James Scribner 1801,NY to Grand Rapids

I am looking for the ancestors ofJames Scribner born in 1801 in New York. I have no info about his parents. He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1836 and settled much of the west side of the river. He built the first bridge across the Grand River. He was married to Eliza Slocum.His daughter, Margaret, married George Pew. Thanks
