hello-

I am also from the Vermont Scribners-
who had removed fromNew Hampshire
can you help me with the children of Benjamin Scribner and Margaret clifford, and their son Benjamin Scribner Jr who married martha knight?

my line is
John Scriven born 1623 Shropshire England
married Mary
son Thomas B Scribner and 2nd wife Hannah Welch
their son Benjamin Scribner Senior married
Margaret Clifford
their son Benjamin Scribner Junior born 1772 and
Marth Knight born 1773 married 1792
their son Nicholas Hale Scribner born 1805 Corinth, Orange, Vermont married in 1832 Nancy Baker Younger born 1807
their oldest child is a daughter Sarah Jane Scribner
born in the 1830's in Vermont; they also had Nicholas Hale Scribner Junior (Hale) born in Vermont
the family moved by covered wagon to Licking county Ohio
and was on the 1840 census there.(on 1840 census as N.H. Scribner) There were two other sons born in Ohio-Frances and Willard.
Then N.H. Scribner senior and daughter sarah jane scribner went to Eddyville, Iowa by 1842 and lived in wigwams thru the winter until Nicholas Hale Scribner senior built the first house in Eddyville, Iowa in the spring 1843.
Nancy and the younger children then moved to Eddyville, Iowa
when they were settled.
Nicholas Senior was the fifth child of Benjamin jr and martha knight- cannot find the other children.
Which branch of the vermont family are you from?
