Re: Martin Van Buren Scribner, 1841, ILL
Michele- I was wondering if you have had any luck in finding your MVB. I found a Martin Van Buren living in Minnesota in the 1900 Fed census records. He is stated as born in New York and is found living with his granddaughter. He is a widower.
My interest is in sorting this Martin V.B. Scribner out from another Martin Scribner with supposedly a middle initial of W. who was born 1838 in Illinois and is the son of Curtis Scribner.
I am wondering if somehow the two Martins have been confused with each other. Has the marriage of MVB to Catherine McBride in 1866 in Moniteau Co, Missouri been documented through marriage records?
Finally, you mentioned that the MVB you are seeking was born in 1841 in Illinois. Where did you get this information? Any assistance you can provide may aid in clarification of these two men.
