Re: Eliza Scribner/Oklahoma Lucinda Smith Scribner
Thank you for the website.
Since I posted this message I have found out that my Eliza Scriber was also a daughter of Solomon Scribner and Loucinda Smith Scribner, so that makes our ancestors sisters.I was told that my Eliza was a twin to Loucinda Scribner and that possibly my Eliza's name was Louisa, I don't know for sure all my grandfather ever called his mother was "Eliza" or "Liza".My Eliza was married to James Alexander Blackburn , her second marriage, her first was to a Milliken.I have not been able to locate my Eliza's burial place,I know that my grandfather was born in Texas,I'm not sure if that is where they were living when his mother Eliza Scribner died. I know that his father remarried and lived at Roff, Oklahoma for awhile and then he moved to Bridgeport, Texas and then to California where he died. I think my Eliza was probably in Oklahoma when she died as her brother William was in the area at that time also and looks like your Polly was too.Wonder did Solomon and Loucinda make the move to Oklahoma and their children move at the same time?
I wonder too since I was told my Eliza was a twin if she and Loucinda were identical twins?I have a picture of my Eliza but have not made contact with any descendant of Loucinda's to ask about her.Do you have any information on siblings of Loucinda Smith Scribner( the mother) so as not to confuse you, since she also had a daughter named Loucinda?I was told that when my grandfather moved from the Roff, Oklahoma area to Caddo County , Oklahoma that an Uncle by the name of Austin Smith helped him move, now I wonder if the Uncle Austin Smith may have been a brother to his grandmother Loucinda Smith Scribner, but I have no information on her siblings.
Do you have any information on those buried in the Old Moss Cemetery, do you suppose that my Eliza might also be buried there?I assume the Old Moss Cemetery is named after a Moss family that was in the area and I have a connection to the Moss family by way of my great grandfather James Alexander Blackburn's daughter by his second wife, Maggie her first marriage was to a man named Moss, but I don't remember his name right at the moment.
Thanks again for the website, I'm still reading through it. Just wanted to let you know I got your message.
