E. Scudder clipper captain in 1863

Newspaper accounts say that Captain E. Scudder was captain of the clipper ship War Hawk from August of 1863 to October 1864. Sailed first from New York to San Francisco, then to Singapore and returned to Boston. I have attempted to wade through all the "E." possibilities but so far no luck. Maybe someone can put a name on this person and maybe even some personal notes, the reward would be a copy of my book someday.
