Family Bible of Seekell's of Tyre, Seneca, New York
I have a family clue that I have been chasing for a long time.Horace Seekell(b. 1795)married Content Ellis Standish (of Myles Standish descent). She was b.(1803). They married abt 1819 in Seneca, New York. They had 11 children (I've identified 9 of them)In Horace's Pension Records from the War of 1812, his son's(Charles W. and George P.) had written a letter that said the Seekell family bible belonging to Horace while alive, at his death (in 1874), went to his wife Content. The letter also states that the family bible was published by H. & E. Phinney of Cooperstown, New York, in 1847.
I have tried everything I can think of to find both the bible and the publication. If anyone can help, I will be a friend forever!
