Re: Llewellyn J Shankweiler
Here is someone who has his father as James and the grandfather as Berks County: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2998065&id=I581346249http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2998065&id=I581346249
However, I seriously doubt his name was Berks County. I think they were indicating he was from Berks County.
I suggest trying to determine Llewellyn's date of death, then get his death certificate and obituary. His marriage record may have data on his parents.
Most likely he got the marriage license at the Lehigh County Register of Wills. The same office might have his estate file which would indicate at least the year of death. The Orphans Court records are in the same office. He might have had a guardian appointed if he was to receive any inheritance as a minor.
The Lehigh County Historical Society might be able to help you find a death date, obituary and burial place. For doing research in Berks County I recommend trying the Berks County Genealogical Society and the Historical Society of Berks County. The Berks County Archives and Register of Wills may prove helpful.
