Are you sure her last name was Mixon and not Nixon.In my family research, I have a Mary Shannon, who with her husband, George Rister, were in Edgefield Co., SC before & after 1820.In studying land records, I see a lot of connections with NIXONs.There was a W.H. Nixon and Hugh A. Nixon.
