Thanks for your tip on how to possibly find out whether your Sharps married my Sneed/Sneads or not. I have a copy of the Douglas Register & see the references you pointed out.
Recently i have been looking at some microfilm at the Family History Center showing Deeds in Lunenberg Co. I have found several Sneed/Sneads but no Sharps. I'll keep looking.
In my CD SAR Index there are a lot of SAR files on Sharps & Sharpes. One of the files covers a Robert Sharpe who was born in 1742 & died in 1825. His wife was Sarah Davis. They had a son named George Sharpe who married Lucretia Robinson. Their daughter Sarah married Clement Sharpe. Three people have proven their descendancy back to Robert. All three are out of CT. They are: Clement Dwight Sharpe, Richard Huntington Brown & Everett Barstow Byles. In order to find out dates, other names & places the file would have to be ordered from the National SAR. I will be glad to order this file and any other file available. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? What was your Robert Sharpes wife's name?
Do you have any connection with an Alexander Sharp who was born in Ireland? The SAR National # for him is 6796 & State # 96. This appliction was from Frrederick Dent Sharp out of Oregon & Washington. He was born 3 August 1857 in Lincoln Co, MO. He was 35 at the time of his appliction so the application was made around 1895. His father was Major Alexander Sharp, US Army. His mother was Ellen Wrenshaw Dent. His grandfather was Alexander Sharp. His great grandfather was also an Alexander Sharp & his great great grandfather was Thomas Sharp who married an Margaret Elder. The Patriot Alexander Sharp lived in Pennsylvania. If you want a copy of his file send me anmailing address. Dennis
