Re: Reply to old Cyrus Sharp post
Hi Cousin, so glad to hear from you. I have quite a bit of information on the Sharps. Not sure what all I have on William but in doing a quick check (I will dig to see if I can find more) On the bible pages I have William and Margaret got married on Sept. 4 1853. William was born on May 12, 1830, in Bedford Co. VA and died Feb. 28 1875 and is buried in the Dewitt Cemetery 4 miles east of Beemer Nebraska. I show they had 2 sons Jonathan (who was living in Norden Neb. in 1939), Bert C. ( also living in Norden Neb. in 1939) and one daughter Lillie ( born in Grant Wisconsin 1914, mother of 4 married a Richardson). I recall having a booklet on Stanton Co. Nebraska and its history ( can't find off had but will look for it and it mentions William and another Sharp in it I believe he held some offices in that county.
I show Margaret Ingram born Feb. 10 1834 in ILL. and died July 17, 1885, Nebraska, I see in your postings on Genealogy.com you have her last name as Ingraham, is this her documented maiden name? On the bible page the full last name has long since come off. I have to ad mitt I have not investigated her parents yet, I am slowly getting to all the siblings and their wives to find their parents some I have and some I do not.
We have another cousin that I have been in touch with over the last year or so that lives in Wisconsin and she has been a great help to me in fact a lot of the typed pages I have I got from her research as well as Somme photocopied pictures. I to have an actual picture of Lydia sharp that she was so kind to give to me also. So I have a wealth of information to share on the Sharps. I show Bert as dying on Feb. 21 1937 but no place of death, Jonathan died Aug. 14 1930 Nebraska and was born April 16, 1856, Wisconsin, and Lillie died in 1914 born May 27, 1854, Wisconsin.
Do you live in Nebraska? We live in NE.I had hoped this summer to go to some of the graves and get photos but my daughter had her tonsils out and is still recovering so I am not sure if I will get to it this month.
I will keep digging and see what all I can find On William and Margaret and can e-mail any scanned pictures you might want to see as well as my files on the Sharps and related family. Please feel free to e-mail me at MOMANN1@AOL.com
Hope to hear from you soon,
