I should have explained that I was searching for Sharook on the S list of surnames, trying to locate a couple who married(allegedly)in the 1700`s before sailing off into the sunset-well the Atlantic and North America.Trying to help a contact in Nebraska who had scant details of the pair.(no computer either)
I notice that your search goes back only to 1840 just after compulsory registration of hatch/match and despatch details.Have you tried looking at early wills in the local record offices?
Have just had a nasty note on screen inviting me to use email if this message does not pertain to genealogy queries.Big Brother is alive and well and readin`my emails.
I have lots of information on searching, and I am happy to pass on what I have.
dfenna@AOL.com in case this system fails.
I envy you your grandchildren, having done too good a job with Women`s Lib`with my two daughters. In fairness,Clare fast approaching forty six and unmarried ,has good reason, and Helen, forty three and married to a man who is two days older than me, has a fair excuse.
I too want them to know about their forebears, and they now know more about Fennas than Arthur did in his lifetime.
Happy searching.
