Interesting to find this thread, simply by typing 'artaxerxes sheard' into google!
He was my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather, through his son Charles. Charles' wife, Sarah Kaye, was an ancestor of John Kaye, who was responsible for much of the development in Clayton West in the 1800's. The primary school, Kayes First, is named after him, I went there!
My grandma, Jessie Sheard, was born in Clayton West in 1916.
I would be interested to hear where you found a reference to Artaxerxes year of birth, as the line of research comes to a dead end with him!
Heidi.
