ah ha! I found my error. I did some more digging in the census records, and I found my Bridget. She is listed as Shean in 1880 !!! Grrrr, I truely hate the poor spelling on these records! So now we are making progress, I naturally assumed a Bridget A. Sheehan in 1880 is mine, but not so, thanks so much for clearing that up. But now I am curious about the Mary Devine coincidence. Perhaps your John was kin to my James or something, and James mentioned the area to John ? OR We just are victoms of the constant redundancy in names back in this era ?
