The online catalog of the Pook & Pook auction house at their auction of March 18, 2014, sold as lot #17 a fine Pennsylvania framed fraktur decorated birth record of Henry B. Shenk, born 21 January 1846, the fourth son of Henry & Ann Shenk. No further information is given about any of these individuals.
On the date of my writing this message, a photo of this record is still available online at:
but it may be taken offline soon. In the event it is taken offline, I have downloaded it and will be happy to send a copy freely by email to Shenk family researchers. Someone in the family ought to have it, which is why I’m keeping a copy of it and posting about it. It would be a very great shame and injustice were it to be missed by his descendants or relatives.
My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Note that there is a period between both of my names and between the two words in the second half of my address.
Please email me directly to my email address rather than respond to me on this website as I may not see that response.
If it were a birth record of a 19th century Pease child in my family line, I’d certainly hope someone would do the same for me. Call it a simple, but appropriate, genealogy good deed.
