In the 1860 Rankin County, MS, there is M.H. (Martin) Sheppard 45 NC and E.J. (Elizabeth)Sheppard 41 GA with J.F.N. (Joshiah) 24 GA, Sarah 22 AL, Elizabeth 20 AL, Caroline 18 AL, Charity 15 AL, William 13 AL, John 11 AL, G or F.A. 7 (f) AL, Nancy 6 AL, and Martin 4 AL. In 1870 Rankin County, MS,family 469, there is Mary Sheppard 52 GA, Caroline 32 GA,(I don't know where she came from) Sarah 30 GA, Elizabeth 28 GA, Phoebe 21 GA,(don't know where she came from yet) John Jr 19 MS, Nancy 16 MS, Jimmie 14 MS, Richard 12 MS.( I think the Martin 4 in 1860 and Jimmie 14 in 1870 is James Martin Sheppard.) Also 1870, family 470 is William Sheppard 35 GA and Caroline 28 GA and family 471 is John Sheppard 30 GA and Charity 25 GA.John and Charity are my husband's ggrandparents.I feel like this Caroline is her sister that was 18 on the 1860 census.
