Sarah "Sally" SHEW was most likely a daughter of Jacob SHEW and his unknown wife. Jacob was a son of Philip SHEW who came to Wilkes County from Guilford County, NC about 1800 with most of his family. Based upon the fact that there was only one SHEW family in the county at that time, the father must have been a son of Philip. The most likely son was Jacob SHEW, born about 1750 who died about 1832 in Wilkes County, and in the 1810 census he had 3 daughters age 10 or under. Jacob's brothers had children, but based upon ages and marriage dates for the brothers, Jacob seems to be the only choice. In addition, one of Sally's children was named Jacob, which is quite normal in German families (SHEW).
