Re: Shields, McIntosh, Hay, Adams, Baillie, O'May - Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland
Thanks for the information. What is the source for David's birthplace?
In the cemetery in Central Falls there is one burial site with one stone for a number of family members (details can be found in the cemetery office). The gravesite is in Section A; avenue C; lot 34.There is one very weathered white stone with William S. Hay's name barely visible. He was David and Ann's son.The section and avenue are easily found as it is a relatively small cemetery.
I copied the obituary from a newspaper in the Pawtucket public library.
It says:"On the 20th instant, David Hay, aged 74 years and 19 days."
Source:Pawtucket Gazette & Chronicle, Feb. 26, 1875.
It was from this that I calculated his birthdate.
As I said the authorities had no record of the death.
Hope this helps and thanks for your information.Margaret was the only one I had no information on.
David Hay, the oldest son, appeared to be the black sheep of the family and was buried in a potters grave in Providence after being found dead in his rooming house.
