Hi Charles,
I have a mystery on my hands about a Samuel shook. My Samuel Shook married a Mary Sneary in OH. Probably inor around Carroll Co. They had a son named John Alexander Shook in 1833 there. That is all I know about them they seem to drop off the earth. I did find John Alexande Shook living with the John Sneary fami;ly in 1850 Sugar Creek twp. Putnam Co. Oh. I do know that the Sneary family family was in Carroll Co. in 1840. Maybe this Sam Shook was the one who went to Iowa and left his family he may have also went to Oregon do you know which part of Oregon he went to? It's probably a far fetch idea but I can't seem to find him anywhere. I believe the first wife Mary Sneary died or also may have remarried as she isn't with the Sneary family on the 1850 census. I hope we can make connection . Joann vanboven@cmspan.net
