I purchased in Jacksonville, OR, the subject undated RPPC (Real Photo Postcard) (not postally used) depicting two girls and a boy.It is identified on the back:
"Miss Hazel ShookMiss Phoebe Hoag
Mr. Joeship [sic] Shook
In about 1888, Clara Alice Armes, born 21 Jul 1872 in Lenia, IL, died 26 May 1966 in Coquille, Coos Co., OR, married a shoemaker, Wallace Shook, born Aug 1868 in IA.The couple had three children: Jesse Shook, born Jun 1890 in NE; Harold F. Shook, born Nov 1898 in IA; and Hazel Shook, born Aug 1899 in NE.The family is listed in the 1900 Census data for May Precinct, Kearney Co., NE.
Clara married a second time, to a farmer, Seth Hoag, born about 1840 in NY, died 16 Dec 1916 in Josephine Co., OR.This second marriage produced one child, Phoebe Hoag, born about 1904 in KS.The family is listed in the 1910 Census data for Applegate Precinct, Jackson Co., OR; and the 1920 Census data for Roseburg (resided at 126 Kane Street), Douglas Co., OR.
Half sisters Hazel and Phoebe appear to be about 14 years and 9 years old, respectively, when they posed for this photo.These individuals appear in a Public Member Tree posted on ancestry.com.Joseph appears to be about 2 years old, but I can't find him in the census data or any published tree.
