Donna, I found some information regarding Charles Franklin Shoop and his daughter, Hazel Alice Shoop. There is a family tree at ancestry.com on the Emerick-Wehrenberg families that provides this information.I don't know how accurate it is, but it is a beginning. It shows that Hazel Alice Shoop, 1901-1967, daughter of Charles Franklin Shoop and Alice Amelia Wert, married Twite Edward Emrick, 1899-1978.Charles and Alice are listed in the 1920 Census in Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County, PA.
Your families are connected to two branches of the Shoops. Charles F. Shoop is shown as the son of Harry Shoop and Sarah _____.It does not show the identity of Harry's parents. Alice Wert's parents were William Wert and Catherine Reigle.William Wert was the son of Daniel B. Wert, 1796-1858, and Susannah Schupp (Shoop), 1797-1873.
I checked Atwood and Katherine Shupp's book on the Schupps/Shoops ("Early German American Schupp/Shupp/Shup Families and Their Descendants From the 1600's to the Present," Volume II, 1995), and found that Susannah Schupp, born March 21, 1797, died March 12, 1873, married Daniel Wert, Sr., who was born December 7, 1796, died October 20, 1858. (Volume 1, page 68)
The book shows that Susannah's ancestors were:
Great-grandparents:John George (Johann Georg) Schupp, born in 1705, and his wife, Barbara ____, immigrated from Mertzweiler (now Merzweiler), a short distance from Herren-Sulzbach, in the modern state of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, to Philadelphia, PA on the Ship "Loyal Judith" on September 3, 1739.John George's brothers, Johann Christopher Schupp, 1717-ca. 1780/81, and Johann Ulrich Schupp, 1708-ca. 1752, also immigrated to Pennsylvania. (John Christopher Schupp is my ancestor -- he lived in Derry Township, Lancaster/now Dauphin County, PA.)
Susannah's grandparents:John George Shupp/Shoop, Jr., 1728-1773, and Catharine Matter. They resided in Upper Paxton Township, Lancaster/now Dauphin County, PA. (Shupp Book, Vol. I, page 9)
Susannah's parents: John George Schupp, III, born Aug. 4, 1759, died Aug. 27, 1839,and Anna Maria Elisabetha Deibler, born Jan. 10, 1760, died April 18, 1840. (Shupp Book, Vol. I, page 9)
Hope this helps you.
