Re: I was adopted out in 1948-Marie Shronk
I have a SHRONK genealogy that was prepared by Dailsy QUARLES back in the 1930's. Unfortuneately, it does not mention an Edith (or CONNELLY). However, it is far from complete and it is my impression that everyone with the SHRONK surname are related in some manner. It seems to be a unique surname. SHRONK is an anglicization of SCHRANK (or SCHRANCK). I have not been in contact with any current SHRONK's, however in the genealogy, the SHRONK's seem to be located mainly in the Philadelphia, PA area. I am related to William SHRONK through his daughter Sarah. She married a GRAY. Their granddaughter daughter married a LUKENS --- who were my parents.
Hans Georg SCHRANK originally came to Philadelphia on the Ship Shirley, on 5 September, 1751. A brother, Johann Bernhard came on the Ship Barclay in 1754. They and their decendants had large families thus it quite possible that you are decendant from a person not included in the old genealogy document that I have.
I will be very happy to send you a copy of the genealogy --- advise your mailing address. Reply to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
