Seamands Pugh Bell Solved??

Griffin Carter in Essex County Va.Gives 50 acres of land to his daughter Elizabeth Carter, wife of John Bell for her lifetime and then to Mary Bell his granddaughter. If Mary dies without heirs, the land is to go to Elizabeth Carter Bell’s brother John Carter. A witness to this transaction is Edward Scrimshaw.The Bells are living on the land in Essex County in1717.
A Mary? marries John Pugh, (baptized 1704) son of Ann (Webster?) and Lewis Pugh.They live on Totuskey Creek in Richmond County, North Farnham Parish. Mary (?)had two sons by John, John and William Pugh.Mary’s husband John went to Wales with his father Lewis to settle an estate. John did not return. ( I have no record from Wales or Americaof John Pugh being declared dead.) In 1739 an Ephraim Seamans sells land where his father Joseph had lived on Totuskey Creek, North Farnham Parish, Richmond County Va.In 1740 a Mary Pew marries Ephraim Simmons and their wedding is listed in St. Paul’s Parish Registry. In July 1740 North Farnham Parish in Richmond County lists the birth of Betty, daughter of Ephraim and Mary Simmonds.(they later name a son Bell)
In 1744 overthe river in Caroline Co. Edward Scrimshaw deeds land to John Carter and then to Ephraim Simmons. In 1744 in Caroline Co. Elizabeth Bell presents John Bell’s will and John Carter and Ephim Simons post bond. Four years later in 1748 the will is contested.In 1749 a will for John Bell is presented. We do not know if this is the same John Bell, but Ann Bell and Ephraim Simmons are listed as executors. Ephraim Simmons relinquishes executorship.
In 1749 Ephraim Simons is appointed guardian to William Pue.
In 1794 over in Albemarle County Mary Seamonds, now the wife of Ephraim Seamonds and formerly the wife of John Pugh deceased, personally appears in Court and makes oath that John Pugh and William Pugh are the children of John Pugh deceased, who formerly resided in the County of Richmond in this state and that they are the only surviving children of the said John Pugh deceased verily believes them to be so.
I feel that the Albemarle County Order proves that Mary, wife of Ephraim Seamands was widow of John Pugh. I feel that the documentation of Griffin Carter’s deed of gift naming Mary Bell, her parents John and Elizabeth Bell, her uncle John Carter and the subsequent court proceedings involving Ephraim Seamands and John Carter prove that Mary Seamands was Mary Bell Pugh Seamands.
