The Valley Chronicle (St. Charles, Kane County, Illinois), Aug. 27, 1897. Local Notes. A.J. Simmons had a little fire in his laundry in the Miller building on the east side last Wednesday. A rack containing linen was standing near the stove when it fell over in some way and the whole business was either burned up clean or ruined. The insurance on laundered articles was held by J.W. Johnston, in the Commercial Union Co., of London, and the loss, $14.60, was paid in full Monday of this week.
