Re: Sitton Genealogy, Part Five, John Sitton of Prince George's County, MD
Mark, you have done heroic work with all this.
Question: Did I overlook some of your work , or haveyou placed the John Sutton of St. Mark's Parish in Orange Co. VA, who in 1739 was involved with a deed ? His wife's name was Elizabeth. As you know, Orange Co VA came off of Spotsylvania 1734, and Culpeper from Orange in 1748
I find a record of a John Sutton in Spotsylvania Co. 1755 on...http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vaspotsy/1755road.htm
Joel Parish appointed overseer of the road from E.N.E. bridge to ye county line, his gang Vis. his own; Jno. Woolfolk; Thos. Hill; Wm. Davenport; Fra. Arnold; Mr. Temple's qtr.; Geo. Woodroof; Benj. Woodroof; David Woodroof; John Minor; John Waller; John Sutton; John Lewis, ordinary keeper, tithes. [MB p. 9]
Does this fellow have any position in the Sitton/Sutton lines ?
