Re: Julia Skaggs, Madison County, Missouri
I have documents showing the original Braddy homestead contained 250 acres on the St. Francois River. The area includes Braddy Ford. Benjamin Braddy was buried on the homestead. I don't think anyone knows where the grave is if it's still evident. The surveying discription is on various documents. The land was first sold to the Braddy children as they married. Now, I don't know any of the land owners. The land was adjacent the land owned by the Parkers. Two of the Braddy brothers married Parker sisters.
To answer your question, the land is adjacent Braddy Ford. I have not seen the land or Braddy Ford. I would really like to see the land and the Ford. Hopefully, one of these days, we might make a trip down there and look for the Ford and see what the land looks like.
