James/Jack/Jacob Skipper was recorded as living in Tucker’s store in Montgomery Co., AL in the 1880 census. His father was recorded as being born in NC, and his mother was recorded as being born in GA. His occupation was recorded as “minister”. Two stepsons, Thomas S. Durr (age 19), and Fletcher B. Durr (age 21) also resided in that household. “Jacob L.” apparently served as a Company Commander with the rank of Captain in Company E. of the 37th Alabama Infantry Brigade during the Civil War.
