Hello David.Yes I do have a fair amount on Cadwallader Jones and the Slaughter family. The name Slaughter first appears 18 Sept 1348, under Edward III.A Thomas de "Sloughter" is found in Gloucester Co., as a commissioner of "oyer and terminer". See Patent Rolls, Edward III, Vol. 8, p. 176.There is a "hundred of Slaughter, county of Gloucester with a "Slaughter (Lower)" and a "Slaughter (Upper), both being parishes of the hundred of Slaughter. I suspect this is where Thomas was residing in 1348.I believe that my Jones and Slaughter families had contact with each other long before my Richard Jones, father of Cadwallader Jones, arrived in VA 1649.Would love to work out how our families connect.
