Slaughter Family Bible

By Natalie Robinson May 27, 2014 at 09:27:59

Need some help and I know this is a long shot but I am looking for anyone who might be able to help me track down a family bible for me. My father said gr-grandfather, William Penn Slaughter, use to go on about how he shouldn't have let one of the "aunts" take the family bible with her to Corpus Christi, Texas. My father is not sure if W.P meant a sister of his or an aunt of his but believes it may have been a sister of William Penn. My gr-grandfather had three sisters, Lenora (whom I believe died young), Zeedie, and Era. Both Zeedie and Era died in about 1975. I believe that Zeedie married a Reynolds and had at least one son named Homer Reynolds. Era, married a William Henry Reese and I believe had a son named Loyd, and possibly a son named Henry. All of them are from the area of Van Zandt County in Texas.

This bible that I am looking for is supposed to have our family lineage down to at least my gr-grandfather William Penn Slaughter who was born in Van Zandt Co., TX, in 1875 to Henry Slaughter and Zelphia Faulk. If anyone can help me in this quest I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
Natalie Slaughter Robinson
