Re: Pawling NY SLOCUM's
My information was found in the first book , written by Charles E. Slocum; A Short History of the Slocums, Slocumbs and Slocombs Families 1637-1881, under information of the families of Mary Ann Slocum 7 ( Williams 6; Peleg 5; Peleg 4; Peleg 3; Giles 2(actually he was no. 1 in the U.S) his father being Philip) who married Henry Howland Crapo both born in Dartmouth, Ma. The information starts on page 192 and runs to page 197. On page 197 is a chart which shows the Smith genealogy that refers to Lucy Ann Crapo born in New Bedford, Ma. Nov. 8, 18366 and was married in Flint, Mich. Dec 15, 1858 to Humphrey H.H.C. Smith who was born in Dartmouth, Ma. May 9, 1828.
This is one of the Slocum books I have been telling about, on this site, and if you are interested, can pick up a copy from the source I mentioned.
As for Richard, who lives 2 towns away, this is all part of his family tree (? I'm sure) and has done extensive work on putting his family all together. I'm sure he'll give you his answer.
