My mother was Sarah Helen Slocum born in New York (no birth certificate) on July 4, 1904.Her father was Frederick Vernon Slocum brother to George Slocum, an opthamologist who taught at University of Michigan.In 1931, Sarah married Theodore Webster Ward, an attorney, born in Oklahoma.They were married in Pasadena, CA and continued to live there for the rest of their lives.They had 3 children.
