Giles Frederick Slocum 8 (George 7; Elihu 6; Giles 5; Peleg 4; Peleg 3; Giles 2; Philip 1) was born in Scipio Township, Cayuga Co., N.Y. September 10, 1834. He married 1st, October 6, 1854, Mary G. Taber, born in New Bedord, Ma. December 1839 and died February 9, 1875. He married 2nd, March 15, 1881, Fanny Taylor, born September 20, 1843.They had 3 children;
George, born July 16, 1865
Henry C. Born October 5, 1869
Frederick G. born February 22, 1873
Note there is no brother to George named Frederick Vernon... see following.
Dr George Slocum 9 (named above) was married at Fleming, N.Y. September 22, 1887 to Eva Sara Close, born May 26, 1862 in Scipio, N.Y.
He did go to the U. of Michigan and did specialize on diseases of the eye, and there is a bit of information on him, too lengthy to type in. They had 3 children (that I can find)
Giles Herbert, born June 28, 1888 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
FREDERICK VERNON born December 1889 in Oswego, N.Y.
Vaughn, born March 3, 1893 in Genoa, N.Y.
Is the above Frederick Vernon the person you are looking for ? There is no further information on him, in my book; guess he was the end of the line in the research done on this family.
I can take the above mentioned lines all the way back to Giles/Philip, if you need it, but you had better contact me at my home e-mail, found by clicking on my name above.I say this because the material would have to be photocopied due to its length, and mailed to you at your home. To keep your address confidential, you would need to send it to me directly. I do this for fun on a NO CHARGE BASIS, so you don't have to worry about costs
I hope this information helped you a little bit, but get back to me if you need more.Have a Merry Christmas.......
Cheers,...Randy Weeks
