Re: Mary Slocum
Hi Robert; I have all the information on Mary Slocum back to our common ancester Giles #2, and other information of Mary forward.
You do know that her father was killed in the Wyoming Massacre, and that her sister Frances was captured by the Indians.
Mary's husband, Joseph Towne was a neighboring farmer and reared her family in Luzerne Co. The date and place of Joseph's death was not reported, although she died April 5, 1844 (1848?).
There was a book entitled, "The Descendants of William Towne", who came to America in or about 1630, and settled in Salem, Ma., 8 vo pp.368. unfortunately it does not contain the name of this Joseph Towne.
Do you have all the names of Anor Towne and William Miller ? What line do you follow from their 11 children ? I can follow Mary Slocum Miller one more step, as well as Eliza Jane Miller.
Can also follow Benjamin C.S. Town, and two of his children (of 8) and Mary Towne and two of her children (of 6), if you need the information.
Sorry I couldn't supply more information on Joseph.
