Portrait of Miriam Small (1812-1890), Standish, Maine, 1830
The Summer, 2012, issue of ANTIQUES AND FINE ART magazine on p. 73 pictures in an advertisement an excellent portrait of Miss Miriam Small (1812-1890) of Standish, Maine. The portrait was painted in 1830. Miriam Small later married Frederic Rounds.
In case you can no longer purchase a copy of this issue or are unable to find it in your local public library (remember to take along your camera), I am scanning this portrait for any of her Small or Rounds family descendants and researchers who might like a copy sent freely by email. Just imagine if there were a portrait in existence of one of your ancestors before the age of photography, and you did not know of it. That would, indeed, be a very great shame and injustice, which is why I’m scanning this portrait and posting about it. Someone in the families ought to have a copy of this portrait.

If it were a portrait of a 19th century Miss Pease in my family line, I'd certainly hope someone would do the same for me. Call it a simple, but appropriate, genealogical good deed.
