Thank you for your correspondence about Archibald Smith.I believe the Archibald Smith you have mentioned is a different Archibald Smith than the person in my original query. That Archibald Smith was from Elbert Co. GA, b. Apr. 23, 1795 d. Oct. 27, 1896 Jonesboro, Clayton Co. GA.He was married to my ggggg grandfather's (John McMullan) youngest daughter, Lavinia (McMullan) Smith b. Aug. 6, 1806 Elbert Co. GA d. Mar. 5, 1896 Jonesboro, Clayton Co. GA.They are both buried in a private family cemetery in Jonesboro, Clayton Co. GA.There were sixteen children from this marriage of Archibald and Lavinia (McMullan) Smith. We do know that according to the birthplace of some children, they didn't move to Jonesboro, Clayton Co. GA from Elbert Co. GA until after 1827.I don't believe that either of them lived anywhere else in GA other than Elbert and Clayton Co.'s, GA.I don't know who the parents of Archibald Smith were, so your Smith's might be related. The Smith family surname is so large and would require quiet a lot of study to find links, if any could be found.Any additional information you might have could be helpful in establishing a possible link.
