Would anyone have any information on ROSANNA SMOLLEN of Kings Co. Ireland?
She was born in 1835.
The death certificate reads: Matthew Kenny and Catherine (surname unknown - could most likely be Smollen).
Rosanna could have been a famine orphan. No record has yet been found as to how she entered Australia.
She was in Australia in 1857 and married James Benjamin MARSH at the age of 22 years in the Catholic Church at Goulburn, New South Wales, (Australia). (Her Marriage Certificate listed her name as SMOLLEN)
They lived in this general area (around Goulburn) for approximately 20 years.
They later moved to Queensland and lived at "Louisavale Station" on Monsildale Creek in the Upper Brisbane Valley, also at One Mile, Ipswich (Queensland) and Booval (Queensland). She died at Booval on 17th May, 1905 aged 70 years.
They had 8 children, namely: William, James, Michael John, Mary Ellen, Thomas, Rachel, Albert Matthew, Rosanna Mary.
Should anyone have any further information on the above, I would be pleased to hear from you.
