I am probably not of much help to you, but I believe you may have found my great-grandmother's parents, who even my grandmother did not know. My great-grandmother was born Louise Sorel, sometime around 1862, and died in 1955 in Cohoes, NY. My information says she was 93 at the time of her death, but this might not be accurate. I always thought that Louise was born in Canada, because French was her primary language. But it's possible she was born in NYS, near the border. She married Edmund Provost, who was born in Ausable Forks, NY. They spent most of the their married life in Ticonderoga, NY, where Edmund worked at International Paper. Their daughter, Amelia (born 1893) was my grandmother. I would be interested in anything else you might know about Antoine and Mary Sorrell.
Thank you!
