David Souders (1874-1902) Lehigh/Carbon Counties PA
David Souders, born 1874 in Lehigh County PA, died at age 28 in Carbon County PA.His obituary in the local newspaper was as follows:
"David W. Souders, a very estimable young man, employed as a car inspector, at Mahoning, was instantly killed while at work yesterday afternoon. It seems that he wanted to pass between two cars, from one side of the track to the other, and as he got between the cars they bumped together and he was squeezed to death.Mr. Souders was only 28 years old and leaves a wife and two small children. He wasborn at Lehigh Gap, this county, and his mother is still living; also the following brothers and sisters: B.F. Souders, of Hazelton; Eugene, John, and Charles, of Packerton, and Miss Arabella, of Slattington. The deceased resided on North Third Street, Lehighton, between Carbon and Coal, from where the funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, with services by Rev. D.A. Winter. Interment will be made at St. John's Union Church, in Lower Towamensing."
