Simon Butcher (1669-1718) married in Mendham, Suff. in 1695 Margaret Spalding (also recorded in Withersdale).Their eldest son was named Andrew - a given name not otherwise found in the Butcher family - so I suspect a connection to the Andrew Spalding bur. in Mendham in 1707.Anyone have any leads?
