I haven't researched the western Pennsylvania Spindlers but have some records to share. These are easy to find so you may have them already.
The IGI shows Daniel born about 1804.

One was probably the other Jacob in the 1830 census. The DAR Lineage of Society Members, Lafayette Chapter shows some of Jacob's line.Tobias FRIEND (1759-1829)was a private from Washington County. His daughter Liddie FRIEND (1800-1825) married Jacob SPINDLER (1798-1865).Their son William SPINDLER (1821-1888) married Catherine RICHIE (1825-1909).The grandson David W. SPINDLER(1846-1914) married Mary WILKINSON (1848-1909) and had four children. This is just a summary.
